About Zermatt

Explore Zermatt's mountains in the summer

Zermatt summer alpine

Zermatt is one of the most popular mountaineering destinations in the world, and for good reason. With access to dozens of 4,000m peaks, including the Matterhorn, there is something for most levels. Seasoned alpinists will find exposed, technical high-alpine objectives, while those earlier in their journey can work towards introductory 4,000m peaks, hikes, and via ferratas. Most objectives are reachable directly from the valley in a day, with cable cars taking a lot of the approach out of the equation. Conditions in the mountains are never fully predictable, but the range of terrain here means your guide can always find the right objective for the day and make sure you have a rewarding time out. "Well done, Olivier, for guiding me and Callum up the Breithorn. It was a momentous day: Callum's first 4,000m climb, and Callum proposed to me at the summit! Unforgettable."
